Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician and singer from Canada. 2] 3] The variety of her earlier music has been described as "lo hi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has added elements of hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. The songs she sings often speak to gender issues and science fiction. There have been five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver in the early 1990s, before moving to Montreal in 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion from the mid 2000s. There were 2 albums that were issued through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in 2010. The following year, she became a member of 4AD and became a household name after the release of her third studio album, Visions In 2012. Visions contains the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won she the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise by critics and a variety of publications voted it the best album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes has also been an actor and judge on Alter Ego's competitions for music, had a role as vocalist for Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020.
